Buying Questions

How do I buy an item?

• Register to bid (free to browse).
• A $2 verification charge confirms you’re 18+ and a real bidder. No additional 3.5% credit card service fee applies to this $2 charge.
• Place bids manually or use Proxy Bidding.
• If you’re the Winning High Bidder, you’ve entered a binding agreement (subject to inspection rights).
If you win a Non-Horse auction and complete the process normally, the Winning Bid amount is paid directly to the Seller, and FFAW separately charges your card on file the $249 Listing Fee plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee.
• Submit payment within 24–48 hours per Terms & Conditions.

That’s it.

The $2 charge verifies:

• You’re a real person
• You’re of legal age
• Your payment method is valid

This helps protect all buyers and sellers from fraud. No additional 3.5% credit card service fee applies to this $2 verification charge.

Proxy Bidding lets you set your maximum price privately.

The system automatically increases your bid in preset increments ($50, $100, or $200 depending on the item) only when someone outbids you — up to your limit.

Your maximum is never shown to other bidders.

HABO (Highest and Best Offer) allows you to send a private offer to the seller ONLY During the Preview Period, but NOT while the auction is active.

• No extra fee.
• Seller is not obligated to accept.
• If accepted, the auction Preview ends and the Auction is cancelled, marked as “SOLD”.

Yes, But FOR HORSES ONLY at this time.

Buyers have a Five (5) Business Day Grace Period to confirm the item matches the seller’s representations.

• Third-party Pre-Purchase Inspections (PPI) are strongly encouraged.
• Horses include a Post-Sale Exam (PSE).
• If intentional misrepresentation is discovered, you may refuse the purchase without penalty.

You may also waive inspection and accept the item “As-Is.”

Bids are legally binding and cannot normally be retracted.

If you make an error:

• Immediately message the seller through the auction system.
• Immediately contact support by phone and email. Contact@FlatFeeAuctionWorld.com

If caught quickly, we may be able to reverse it. Theirs is no guarantee FFAW can manually retract a bid.  YOU MUST ASSUME ALL BIDS ARE FINAL AND BINDING.

A Winning High Bid is a contract to purchase.

If a buyer defaults without valid grounds for refusal due to misrepresentation:

• A $500 penalty applies, plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee.
• Any portion of this penalty that is collected and paid to the Seller may be reduced by the applicable 3.5% processing fee associated with collecting and/or remitting that penalty.
• The Seller may pursue damages from the Winning Bidder.

Please bid responsibly.

Selling Questions

How do I sell an item?

1. Register.
2. Click “List Your Item.”
3. Write your own honest description.
4. Add at least 50 clear photos and videos. 150 or more photos is your best chance to impress Bidders. Show defects. Show it running.
5. Set starting price and reserve (optional).
6. List your item for free on all category sites. Sellers do not pay the $249 Listing Fee up front. However, if a Seller cancels during the 6-Day Preview Period after selling outside the platform or otherwise not completing the full 7-day auction period, a $49 Seller Cancellation Fee plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee may apply.
7. We will review your ad and reserve price and go live quickly
8. Start your auction.

Then let the bidding begin.

Correct. No commissions for buyers or sellers.

Sellers can list for free. If the auction is successful, the Winning Bidder is charged the $249 Listing Fee plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee. If a Seller cancels during the 6-Day Preview Period after selling outside the platform or otherwise not completing the full 7-day auction period, a $49 Seller Cancellation Fee plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee may apply.

If the item doesn’t sell, you may relist per policy at no additional charge.

You may re-run the same auction multiple times within the allowed relisting period at no extra cost.

Sometimes timing matters. Try again.

Absolutely — and you should.

Buyers want to hear directly from you. Be detailed. Be honest. Show strengths and disclose flaws.

Honesty prevents disputes and protects your sale.

More quality = more confidence.

For Vehicles, a 30 – 60 second video showing a cold start up and driving are great.
For Horses, a 6 –12 minute well-edited overview video works great

OR

• Several short, clearly labeled clips

Always:

• Show close-up details
• Date your photos/videos when possible
• Clearly disclose known issues

Transparency builds trust and stronger bidding.

Inspections & Protection

Are inspections required?

• NOTE FOR VEHICLES, VESSELS and MACHINERYTHESE are all SOLD AS-IS.
NOTE to SELLERS: Third Party Pre Purchase Inspections provided by Seller create trust and help your item sell much higher.
• Horses: Post-Sale Exam (PSE) is required. See Horse Terms at FlatFeeHorseAuction.com.
• Aircraft and Homes/Land may require specific inspections by law or for Financing.
All other categories (Vehicles) strongly encourage third-party Pre-Purchase Inspections.

For NON-Vehicle Categories, Winning bidders have an inspection window to confirm seller representations.  This time period depends on realistic and typical schedules of inspectors, financing, and escrow companies.

These Inspection Periods protects both parties and reduces disputes.

Buyers and sellers are expected to communicate and act diligently. Weather, distance, and scheduling issues can happen — communication is key.

Plan ahead whenever possible.

Yes. Buyers may waive inspection whether an Inspection is Required or not and accept the item “As-Is.”

Payment & Transfers

For titled vehicles, vessels, and aircraft, we recommend trusted third-party services such as:

Escrow.com
Keysavvy

For homes and land transactions, we recommend:

• Spruce

These companies verify identity, confirm ownership, and securely handle funds and title transfers.

For successful Non-Horse auctions, the Winning Bid amount is paid directly to the Seller. Separately, FFAW charges the Winning Bidder’s card on file the $249 Listing Fee plus the applicable 3.5% credit card service fee.

For certain non-titled items like machinery and horses, payments are handled per our Terms & Conditions to protect both parties.
